England and France Trip:
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Ms. Broughton will be taking a group of students and parents to England and France in the Spring of 2018. Be sure to read about the parent meeting.
Why Are We Going?
Your child will step outside the classroom and engage with the world firsthand, go beyond their comfort zone and experience new foods, cultures and people. Having this international experience in high school will also make your child a more competitive college applicant. And, most importantly, this incredible opportunity will help your child navigate new situations with a broader global perspective, build self-confidence and give them a life changing experience.
Where Are We Going?
Selected students will participate in an educational tour to England and France in the spring of 2018. The histories of France and England are as distinct as they are intertwined. Explore them both. These two capitals are standard bearers of culture and history. Experience London's royal tradition at Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London, and take in life today on its bustling streets. In Paris, lose yourself in endless art at the Louvre and pinch yourself as you ascend the Eiffel Tower.
What’s Next?
I will be hosting a mandatory informational and enrollment meeting for this program on Tuesday September 12th at 6:00pm to answer all of your questions. Please send me an email at julie.broughton@shelby.kyschools.us or return the RSVP slip below by Friday September 8th to ensure I can accommodate everyone in the meeting space. Once I have collected all RSVPs I will email everyone to confirm the final location, but tentatively the meeting will be held at Martha Layne Collins High School in Classroom 547.
I hope that you and your child will be able to attend the upcoming meeting to learn more about this unique opportunity.
Warm regards,
Ms. Julie Broughton
