SLE WEEKLY UPDATE January 20, 2023
Be East!
Good Afternoon,
As a reminder, next week we are administering mid-year assessments in all classes. All students are required to take their exams and we encourage students to study and do their best.
As you know, we are now experiencing winter weather. At times, this requires that notifications are sent out as soon as possible regarding possible early dismissal or cancelations. If you wish to receive these notifications via our Skylert system directions on how to update your information can be found in this link: Parent Guide for School Notifications - Mass Skylerts. You can also follow us on social media for school closing updates. (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram). Also, please remind your students to allow extra time traveling to school during inclement weather.

FRESHMEN STUDY EVENT SPONSORED BY LINK CREW
On Monday, January 23rd, the LINK CREW will be holding an event called The Mid-Term Gala. The Mid-Term Gala will be available to freshmen to help with studying for midterms.
This event is being held in the SLE Commons and is from 5:45pm to 7:30pm. There will be upperclassmen to help with tutoring for all freshman classes. Students should bring review materials with them. There will also be hot chocolate, snacks, and there is no entry fee.
DUAL ENROLLMENT NOTIFICATION
The deadline to sign up for dual enrollment for semester 1 of the 2023-2024 school year is May 10, 2023.
CURRICULUM FAIR
Prior to the fair, we will hold an optional informational meeting for the class of 2027 and their families beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
The Curriculum Fair benefits all of our students and parents as it provides an orientation for incoming ninth-graders, as well as an opportunity for all of our current students (9th-11th graders) to converse with teachers about courses students may be considering next year. In addition, students will have the opportunity to ask questions about clubs and activities which are an essential part of our high school experience. Parents and students will be able to meet with department facilitators in the Academic Pathways from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
We hope that all parents and students will be able to join us for this informational evening!
