PHS FH Weekly JV Update 10/21-10/25

Messages & Updates...

Hello everyone,

JVA had a great turn out at the Helix tournament making the playoffs once again. Unfortunately, facing Scripps Ranch and losing 0-2, two Saturdays in a row. I would just like to share my stats with everyone--last Saturday at UC we played Scripps and lost 0-2: they had 13 shots on goal and 10 corners on us. Putting them at 23 attempts on Myra and 2 went in. Our team had zero shots on goal and zero corners. Just 7 days later we faced them again--Yesterday at Helix, Scripps had 4 shots on goal and 2 corners putting them at 6 attempts. Our girls were able to come around and put a couple of shots on goal and create 2 corner attempts as well.

The two games were significantly different. Yesterdays stats speaks volumes for our girls and how hard they work, how well they have come together and really just how bad they wanted it. As a coach, I look at those stats and see that every girl on the field played hard, all layers put the work in from forwards, mids, defenders to the goalie. They were all defending well, winning the ball, making good decisions, connecting passes and communicating on the field. I am so proud of them and know that they put their hearts into it and left it all on the field!

Thank you all for bringing food, shade, water and most of all for coming to support the program and the girls!! Thank you to the girls that were borrowed: Ally K, Bailey, Caitlyn, Kiara and their families as well. I greatly appreciate you all and I know the girls do too!!! We really do have a great group of families! Honestly, the best part of the tournaments is seeing everyone hanging out and the girls giggling under the canopies.

The schedule for JVB tournament on the 26th at Del Norte has not been distributed yet. I will send as soon as I get it. This tournament is Halloween themed and if you look on the flyer attached below they are asking teams to decorate their canopies/camp area. I will talk to the girls about it as well. I would imagine between 17 families we have quite a bit of Halloween decor to use. I know I have quite a bit the girls can use. Separate emails will come out again from managers for sign ups for food, drinks and canopies, please consider pitching in.

GO TITANS!

Time and score keepers needed...

Time and scorekeepers are needed for all games. Away games only needs one scorekeeper to keep track of the book. However, if 2 people want to sit together at the table they can. Home games we need a person to do the time clock on the field and the scorebook on the field at the table. We also have the score booth open during our home games for the scoreboard. One or more people can sit in there to run it and watch the game. If you don't want to be responsible for the game clock on the scoreboard you can just add the scores, or run both. The instructions are on the wall and it is fairly simple. It's a great view and shaded and there is a pair of binoculars in the booth if needed.
