Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators, Today!

January 10, 2021

Notes from our Director

Hello DATA community,

As we begin the second week of the second semester, it is critically important that students log in to their classes each day and submit their assignments on time. Staying in tune with class lessons and doing assignments on time helps students learn better plus allows work to be graded by teachers in a more timely manner. These actions will help with ensuring success this semester.

Sadly, this past week, we lost one of our outstanding master teachers, Mrs. Natasha Christian. She was an AP English IV teacher and has taught many of our DATA students over the past few years. As we mourn her passing and remember her tremendous legacy, there will be counselors available on campus all week for students and staff. Thank you for keeping the entire Christian family in your thoughts.

A big thanks to the many students who signed up to participate in the community service project with the Valentine's decor for our feeder campus teachers. Mrs. Philbrick has reached out to those who have already signed up with details. There is still time to sign up if you want to help with this community service project from home. The link is included below.

Thank you for reviewing the many details included below. Please continue to stay safe. If you have specific questions, please feel free to reach out.

Stay well,

Lori Murach

DATA senior, Sasami Cavan, appreciates the support she has received in NEISD to help her pursue her career in architecture

Here is the link to the story that was on NEISD's webpage and Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites highlighting Sasami. Congratulations to Mrs. Philbrick, our fantastic DATA architecture teacher for inspiring Sasami. Sasami, congratulations to you on committing to the Illinois Institute of Technology for both volleyball and your architectural studies. We look forward to seeing the great work you will continue in the future.

DATA Student Voice is Needed!

We want to hear ideas from our DATA students. Please complete this Google Form with your ideas This is where you can share your ideas about DATA. What should we START DOING, STOP DOING, AND KEEP DOING? Please be constructive in your ideas. If you don't like something, what are your thoughts on how to improve it?

*Due to COVID - 19, there are some things that DATA traditionally does that have needed to be adjusted this year. However, we do want to hear your thoughts and see how we can continue to be creative with meeting our students' needs.
