All Things SLI
Silver Lake Intermediate Feb. 5, 2021
SLI Families:
Please log into Skyward Family Access and choose your child's Explore classes for next school year. We need this done as soon as possible as it affects staffing and the master schedule for next school year. We want your child to have choice, and if you do not fill out course selection, your child may not get to choose his/her Explore classes next school year. This is especially important for next year's 7th & 8th grade students.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are next Thursday, February 11. Please reach out to the teachers if you would like to have a conference and do not have it scheduled yet.
Thank you to those families who have purchased the SLI PTO fundraiser: Kwik Trip Car Wash It is not too late! You may order until Feb. 14. A flyer and a button link to order is included in this newsletter. I know my car is in need of a good washing after all of the recent snow. Thank you for considering.
Have a great weekend! Stay warm in this cold snap.

USDA EXTENDS FREE MEAL PROGRAM
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service has again extended the free student meals program, providing a free breakfast and lunch option for students until June 30, 2021, or until the USDA confirms that funding is no longer available, whichever comes first. As a result, student breakfast and lunch will be free on the days that students are learning at school face-to-face, and the days that students are learning virtually.
What does my child do if they are in quarantine or isolation?
Even though we are back full face to face five days a week, students in quarantine are expected to Zoom into the class here at school.
If your child is ill and is unable to participate in the virtual schedule (i.e. attend Zoom meeting with the in person class), please email your child's teachers so they are aware and can work with individual families/students.
What if my child has technical issues at home?
Students and families who need technical support can submit a ticket using the form on their student bookmarks, or available here. In addition, support from our Technology Help Desk is available during the school day by calling 262-560-2126 or emailing helpdesk@oasd.org. For those who do not have reliable internet access at home, please contact our help desk to request a hotspot. The OASD Technology Website has additional information on remote learning and technology resources.
