Principal's Message

Good Evening Robinson Families,

Happy Halloween and Feliz Dia De Los Muertos which begins tomorrow and ends on Tuesday, November 2nd. Below are several updates:

Parent Conferences: Days will be Monday, November 1 through Monday, November 8. These 6 days will be minimum days for all students in grades 1 - 8 with dismissal at 1:00 pm. Kindergarten schedules will not change during parent conference days.

I am grateful to our teachers and families for coming together and collaborate on how to best support and meet the needs of our young dolphins. I appreciate your efforts to strengthen our partnership to help build up student confidence and learning strategies that can be used at home to reinforce academic.

Tutoring and Interventions: Our district has provided Robinson with funding support to start planning interventions. We will be using student iReady data to develop after school / Saturday School Tutoring using our teachers and outside tutoring providers. Stay tuned for more details.

Arrival and Dismissal Safety: During my Principal Community Zoom meeting last week I reminded parents that we are guests on the Butler Campus and need parental support to ensure our students are treating school property with respect. I asked parents to assist with being respectful to our neighbors as we are guests to the community around the Butler campus. Please be sure to not block driveway, double park or make U-Turns in front of school during arrival and dismissal. Thanks for doing all you can to keep all our staff, students and families safe.

Lost and Found: Our students have lost many sweaters and jackets over the last two months. Please come to the school and check our lost and found bins. Any sweaters and jackets that are not picked up by the end of the week will be donated. To help prevent this from happening to your child's clothing items, please make sure you write their name on them so we can attempt to return to them if lost.

Native American and Alaska Native History Month!

On August 3, 1990, President of the United States George H. W. Bush declared the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month, thereafter commonly referred to as Native American Heritage Month. The bill read in part that "the President has authorized and requested to call upon Federal, State and local Governments groups, and organizations and the people of the United States to observe such month with appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities". This landmark bill honoring America's tribal people represented a major step in the establishment of this celebration which began in 1976 when a Cherokee/Osage Indian named Jerry C. Elliott-High Eagle authored Native American Awareness Week legislation the first historical week of recognition in the nation for native peoples. This led to 1986 with President Ronald Reagan proclaiming November 23-30, 1986, as "American Indian Week".
