This month we will be creating holiday ornaments!
Ingredients needed before project day: Salt Dough
- 2 cups all purpose flower
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup water
Students should have their salt dough made prior to the club. Here is a link to a 3 ingredient, easy recipe. https://unsophisticook.com/salt-dough-recipe/
Materials for project day:
- Air Dry Clay
- Clay tools: knife, toothpicks, rolling pin, cookie cutters
- Newspaper to protect your table
- Cookie Cutters (if creating holiday ornaments)
- Found objects to press into clay to create textured designs

November Art Webinars
This month we will be creating an Autumn-scape!
Students will learn how to dab, splatter and dry brush using watercolors.
Materials:
- Watercolors (orange, red, purple, black, brown, and yellow)
- Cup of water
- Various paint brush sizes
- Paper towels

Students will learn how to add highlighting and hading to make the vortex transform into an optical illusion

Kindergarten - 5th Grade Art Webinar Details

Students are encouraged to create these using their own artistic style. I will be demoing one way to create an expressive portrait. Please have your black and white photo of yourself or someone foreword facing printed prior to class. I attached a word document of an example of a portrait to print. We will add pencil shading to the back and make a transfer to sketch paper. We will add shapes and grid lines to give the portrait an expressive style.

Hello! My name is Chrissy Shonholz. I am thrilled to be working with you this semester as your Art Webinar Instructor! I live in Haymarket, VA with my husband, two children, and dog, Dunkin. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelors in Fine Arts. My passion is working with students to create art as well as a lifelong love for art.
