Joseph Cook was Australias 6th Prime Minister,taking office in 1913 with a Liberal Party majority of only one seat in the House Of Representatives.In 1894 he was a minister in George Reids Free Trade government,and in 1901 he joined the first federal parliament as a Free Trade member.
Joseph Cook also held the federal seat for Parramatta for 20 years and in 1917 led the Liberal Party in a merger to form the Nationalist Party,Navy Minister and Treasurer in WM Hughes government.On Leaving Politics,Cook served as Australias third High Commissioner in London from 1921 to 1927.
