William D. Cuts Newsletter
October 2021
A MESSAGE FROM OUR ADMIN:
It certainly has been a wonderful fall in terms of the weather we have had and the beautiful colours. The first month of school has seemed more like a junior high school with students in the hallways at lockers, regular options running, volleyball and cross country underway, and clubs getting off the ground. The senior girls volleyball team won the recent SAPEC tournament and we had a number of runners place in the top 5 at cross country districts. This included our senior boys sweeping the top 4 positions.
Right around the corner we have an extra long weekend with Thanksgiving followed by a PD day. Then Wednesday and Thursday evening there will be parent teacher interviews, information on how to book was previously emailed out, if you did not receive it please contact the office. The interviews will once again be conducted virtually or by phone and run from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Also next week, on October 12, will be our next school council meeting. It begins at 7:00 PM and is virtual, contact Mr. Albrecht if you would like the link.
Covid continues to play a role in everything we plan. Whether it be having no spectators for athletics, limiting gatherings, or collecting proof of vaccination for school trips, there is still a large impact on schools. The school division has done a tremendous job keeping on top of the latest information and sending it out to the schools. There is a case per school tracking chart on the district website and schools have been doing their own close contact tracing and notification. Thank you for continuing to keep your students home when they are not feeling well and for letting the school know when they are absent.
As we move ahead I am looking forward to the activity in the school. More clubs and indoor alternatives will start to accommodate students as the weather starts to turn. Athletics will continue and we can all watch on the school livestream (https://www.twitch.tv/mbiollo).
We will continue to update you on any changes that come our way, and always, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Cory Albrecht and Matt Tripp
