Not protected by the copyright law. Either the copyright is expired, using public money or material was donated into a public domain.
Examples: Classical Literature, art, photography donated by the artist
Freeware:
Copyrighted work that you can use, copy or give away for free.
Examples: iTunes, Safari, free apps
Shareware:
Work that you can copy, use, and share for a limited time for free
Examples: Lit apps, pages, iMove, etc...
All Rights Reserved:
Allows the user to use the work, but only to the agreement.
Examples: Purchased apps, songs, and videos
Open Source:
Software that includes a source code with the idea that someone can improve it
Examples: Chrome, Firefox, Twitter, any app/service you can customize.
