Principal's Note:
Dear Spartans
May is a busy month for all. We are moving closer to wrapping up MP4, preparing for Senior events, and even looking to plan for 23-24. Wherever you are on your journey, let's finish the 22-23 school year strong.
Thank You
On behalf of everyone at Stevenson, I want to extend a personal thank you to all families who supported us this year through their work on one of our three parent groups: PTSA, All School Booster Club, and Music Boosters. Much of your work is behind the scenes, volunteering your time, to assist us in providing memorable experiences for our students. Your service and dedication do not go unnoticed.
Final Forms –SHS Athletic Physicals 23-24
For those families that are going to take advantage of the May 17th SHS Sports Physical evening, it is recommended that you create an account prior to attending. This will save you time, prior to coming to the Comp Gym.

Spartan Pride Recipients
Class of 2023 College Decision Day
Each year at Stevenson, Seniors are recognized by indicating future plans whether it is college, trade school, military, gap year, etc. Stevenson’s Senior Signing Day serves as a chance to share your exciting future and gain a sense of pride. This year's Senior Signing Day will take place on May 15, 2023.
We ask that the Class of 2023 individually share their plans to help us create a Virtual Signing Day to share through Stevenson's social media platforms and on the television monitors throughout the school. This will allow fellow students, staff, and even parents to learn about your future post-graduation.
Additionally on May 15, we ask that Seniors wear their college apparel as there will be group photos taken throughout the day with staff.
Please complete by May 19, 2023, if you would like to be included in the slide show.
The LPS Education Foundation is again offering Star Awards for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Month 2023!
Are you looking for a unique way to thank a Livonia Public Schools staff member? A Star Award honors any LPS employee who has made a difference in a student’s, family’s or fellow staffer’s life. For a $25 donation to the Foundation, a personalized, color certificate will be presented to your honoree, and they will receive recognition on the Foundation's website and social media platforms as well as the district's social media platforms. The certificate will be personalized with your praise to show this LPS employee how much they mean to you!
Please click on the link below to send a Star Award to an awesome LPS staff member!

Donations received will be used to help fund the Foundation’s Grant Program so all funds will be going back into the schools to provide programs and supplies for our students and staff.
Thank you for your support! This is an ongoing fundraiser and Star Awards may be submitted at any time.
If you have any questions, please email lpsfoundation@livoniapublicschools.org

The themes may be different, and the hashtags may vary, but the message is universal. Mental Health is Important!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Since 1949 national organizations across the United States have joined together during the month of May to raise awareness, provide education, and spotlight the significant role that mental health plays in our overall health and wellness.
While 1 in 5 people will experience mental illness over the course of their lifetime, everyone will face challenges that can affect their mental health. Everyone has mental health, and it deserves our attention just as much as our physical health does.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines mental health as follows, “Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.”
In support of Mental Health Awareness Month, be sure to check out the information and resources in the Stevenson Weekly Newsletter throughout the month of May.
