Del Valle High School
Latest School Information - March 29, 2021
Principals Note
Parents,
We have 11 weeks left of school. Despite the pandemic, student attendance has been the highest in the last six years. In past years, our attendance for May and June tends to be very low. Please continue to remind your son/daughter to log in to their classes daily and for the students at school, to continue reporting to school every day. Below, you will find the dates for the EOC tests that our students in grades nine through 11 need to take and any senior who still needs to pass one of these tests to graduate. Remember, the state is NOT waiving this year's STAAR/EOC tests. Students in grades 9th, 10th, 11th, and Seniors who still need to pass EOC tests to meet high school graduation requirements will need to take these tests in person at Del Valle High School. Today, March 29, we will have a meeting to give you details on the EOC requirements for this school year – this is the link to watch the meeting. https://www.yisd.net/domain/4374
Students who refuse to take the tests this year will have to take them before graduating. Teachers who have students taking the EOC tests will be informing your son/daughter when they will be taking their required tests. Below you will find a schedule on when the tests will be administered. If your son/daughter takes the bus to come to school, the buses will be available for them to attend school on these dates. Please call Norma Lopez, testing coordinator, if you have questions regarding EOC testing at 434-3119. Our school is open daily from 8:00 to 4:30, and the best way to reach us is by calling 434-3000.
Please know that your child's safety is of the utmost importance to us. The following safety protocols will be in place:
· Upon arrival, all students will undergo temperature checks and screening protocols.
· Social distancing will be adhered to at all times.
· Seating arrangements will have a spacing of a minimum of six feet apart.
· Students and teachers must wear face masks for the duration of the test/while on campus.
Your child will be scheduled for their appropriate assessments to be taken on campus. If you are not comfortable with sending your child to school despite the health precautions taken, please fill out the form below and submit it by April 2, 2021,
