La Mesa Weekly Update

October 7, 2018

Hello La Mesa Families,

Por favor, desplácese hacia abajo para seleccionar español.

Fall is upon us and so is the end of the first grading period. We encourage you to check your child's grades and support them in getting any missed work turned in to teachers.

We continue to appreciate everyone's cooperation with drop off and pick up. Some parts are going well, and others are not. U-turns in front of the school slow down the process of drop off and pick up and are very dangerous. There are also reports of cars making illegal U-turns on Via Princessa, making it unsafe for pedestrians and vehicles.

Thank you to everyone that came out to enjoy Fall Family Fun Night! Our staff enjoyed spending time with the students and the families. It is an annua tradition we look forward to each year.

Sincerely,

Michele Krantz

Principal

Teen Truth Anti Bullying Assembly

October is Bully Prevention Month and La Mesa does a variety of activities throughout the month to bring awareness to the issue of bullying and what students can do to help keep our campus safe and positive.

Our Teen Truth assembly will be this Friday. This assembly uses the evens of the Columbine tragedy to illustrate the dangers of allowing bullying to persist. KC Pohl, the filmmaker, shares the film to shine a light on the negative impact of bullying.

We invite parents to a viewing night with JC Pohl on Thursday, October 12 in our MPR 6:00 - 8:00 pm. He also shares strategies to support parents in ways to help your child deal with bullying. We hope all parents will make this parent night a priority.

An opt out form will be sent in a separate email.tomorrow. We encourage you to come to the parent night if you are considering opting your child out before you submit the form.
