Early life/ Influences
She began her singing career at age 12 in her church in Detroit. Her father exposed her to the outside world because he took her on tour. People noticed her talent when she was out singing with her father. Her father is the reason she became such a good singing.
Time period/ Their music
Through the late 1960's to the early 1970's she came out with many popular blues and jazz songs. She came out with "Respect," "I never loved a man," and "Baby, I love you." These songs are all from the time period 1967. She also came out with "Call me," from the 1970's and " Spanish Harlem," and "Rock steady." Both are from the 1971.
