Media Center Updates

February 15th edition

Flex Schedule

Now that testing and the bulk of orientations are complete, the flex schedule will be...well, a lot more flexible :) I've tried to take into account the time preferences listed in the survey from last week. If you'd like to fill it out, it's attached below.

  • Monday 7:30 to 9:00, 1:30 to 2:30
  • Tuesday 7:30 to 8:30, 9:30 to 11:00
  • Thursday 7:30 to 9:00, 9:30 to 11:00
  • Friday 7:30 to 8:30, 1:30 to 2:30

If you'd like to bring you class in, you can use the appointment calendar. I've changed the blocks from 15 minutes to 30 minutes since everyone seemed to be taking that much time. You can use as much of the 30 minutes as needed. I'd rather you have too much time than be rushed because I didn't give you enough.

Teacher Self-Checkout

I've made library cards for each of you. They are located on the cart with the student library cards. I've organized them by grade level on a ring.

Shelf Organization

I have begun to shelve and label books using something called genrefication rather than the Dewey Decimal System. I think it will make it easier for students to find the books that they are looking for.

New Books!

New Schedule Orientation

If you haven't been down to the library already, please make sure you schedule a 30 minute block using the appointment calendar, so that I can show you and your students how to check books in and out.
