Welcome to the Weekly Update!
-I am collecting interest in forming a Principal's Parent Advisory Group that would meet once a month or every other month. If you are interested in participating and/or hearing more information about the group, please complete the form below:
-The College Board will host two FAFSA workshops on October 3 at 6:30 pm in the Commons. This informative workshop is designed for seniors and their parents and will assist them during the FAFSA/Financial Aid completion workshop. Stay tuned for additional dates and times!
-The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered to juniors on October 13th in the high school gym beginning at 8:00am. Interested Juniors must sign-up to sit for the test. Sign-up begins Friday, September 7th before or after school and during lunches in the Guidance Office. Sign-up closes on Wednesday, September 12th at 2:30pm. The cost of the PSAT is $16.00 and is paid by the student or parent. The test fee is payable no later than October 12th. Checks should be made payable to “MPHS". Students who receive free/reduced lunch are eligible for a fee waiver will take the PSAT/NMSQT at no cost. Please contact Cindy Watson at cindy.watson@mpark.net if your child qualifies for the fee waiver. Practice tests are available at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/practice
-Manassas Park City Schools has partnered with Sprint to bring the Sprint 1Million Project to MPHS. This program will provide high school students with a wireless hotspot with 3 GB a month of high speed (4G) data service to use at home (after 3GB, service goes to 3G). This means that students can access the internet anywhere that they need it. All parents need to do is sign a paper stating they don’t have internet access at home. Please contact Chris Konig for more information.
-Library resources can be accessed by students via Canvas – Library Media Center page access: URL: https://mpcs.instructure.com/enroll/WLKHFY.
Please see Ms. Frankenberger and Ms. Vaske for information on how to get a library pass to our local public libraries.
-Save the Date: Superintendent's Listening Tour will be on September 24 in the MPHS Commons from 7:00-8:30 PM.
