Coloma Junior High

Comet Communication - Week of Nov. 5th

The Start of Something New

Monday, November 5th marks the start of 2nd Marking Period. Often times the transition into a new building or grade level can be stressful and the adjustments can have an impact on your child's grades. The start of a new Marking Period means that everyone gets a fresh start!! Please encourage your child that if they struggled to stay on top of assignments in the last Marking Period this is an opportunity for them to start over. The students are now comfortable in their routines and are aware of teacher expectations which sets them up to be very successful 2nd Marking Period.

How can you help your child stay on top of things? Be sure to log into Power School to check your child's grades regularly. You can view their scores on individual assignments, tests and quizzes and even see if your child has missing assignments. Make this part of your regular routine either daily or weekly depending on your child's needs. If you have difficulty logging into Power School or struggle with technology, your child can always log into Power School under their own account on their Chromebook and show you their grades as well.
