Shark "Shout Outs" MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People That Make Our School "A Home Away From Home"
Hello Monomoy Regional High!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You all pulled your end of the program together magnificently and so efficiently. You truly are reliable, which makes us feel like our future is in the very best of hands. Everyone was so impressed and admitted that we haven’t heard enough from our young people. Your various expressions of fairness and justice as envisioned by Dr. King were most inspiring.
We will be sending each of the participants a thank you, because I don’t really believe in sending sincere thank you’s by e-mail.
We really would like for at least one of you, if not more, to serve on our Action Team. We can talk about what that means, realizing your schedules. You would be such a welcome and innovate force as we move towards some challenging days. Think about it.
Grace and Peace,
Rev. Wesley Williams, Rev. Sally Norris, Father Ken Campbell
A huge Shark Shout Out to substitute Dee Tripp for filling in while Janet Ferro was unexpectedly out most the week of January 9. Dee's prowess with entering data made Mrs. Ferro's return smooth and seamless. We are grateful to Ms. Tripp!
Ms. Ferro
I had the pleasure of over-hearing Maggie Dever give good, sound advice to another student. "Be smart"! Kudos Maggie, YOU are a smart and kind young lady.

Family & Community Conversation with Superintendent **New Date: Jan. 24 - 6:30pm**
Great opportunity to learn more about MRHS's new Jawsome Hour!
Message from Superintendent Carpenter:
I would like to invite you to join me for a conversation about our schools, increasing parent involvement, and the “purpose of education.” At the meetings, I’ll share with you news of exciting initiatives happening within our Monomoy schools and will be listening to your concerns and feedback. While there will be an evening forum at each of our schools, the conversation at each will span all schools, so I’d encourage you to attend on the evening which is most convenient to you. Come with questions, share your thoughts, or just listen – the choice is yours.
I’d love to hear from you about how our new Math in Focus curriculum (Grades K-7) is going for your child and talk with you about upcoming improvements scheduled for our elementary facilities. I want to let you know about the Seminars happening at our middle school this year and the planned Chromebook initiative supporting all Monomoy middle school students next year. I also want to tell you about the new Global Studies Program at the high school and the Power Hour lunch that we will be piloting there in the upcoming weeks. Lastly and most importantly, I want to hear from you about how we can get parents more involved. Between our PTOs, School Councils, the All-Sports Boosters, volunteering, and various committees (including the Westgate Teachers Fellowship Fund), our schools need you and your support.
The parent meetings will be:
Tuesday January 24, 6:30 PM @ Monomoy Regional High School Library
Wednesday January 25, 6:30 PM @ Chatham Elementary School Library.
Enjoy our Fresh School Lunch!
Congratulations Isabelle Coughlin and Aidan Melton for being chosen to represent MRHS at Project 351!
Project 351 is a youth service nonprofit organization that develops a rising generation of “community-first” citizen leaders. Founded by Governor Deval Patrick in 2011 and now convened by Governor Charlie Baker, Project 351 fosters unity and strengthens the ethic of service through the engagement and enrichment of an 8th grade Ambassador from every city and town in Massachusetts.
For a year’s term, Project 351 invests in the Ambassadors’ capabilities and inspires their sense of possibility through customized service experiences, results-driven leadership training, and exposure to issues, role models, and opportunities that challenge and enrich. United, Ambassadors progress the values of social justice, drive transformative impact for a portfolio of nonprofit organizations, and commit to a lifetime of civic responsibility and service.
