Week 11
We have completed 11 weeks of school this term, totalling 55 days or 341 lessons of action packed, interactive, fun filled learning and the much needed spring break holiday has finally arrived. We've wrapped us this term with our last visits to Expo 2020, where our choir entertained a packed DP World pavilion with their outstanding performances, played our final football and netball matches and tournaments and celebrated our 'This is me' day with an Arabic theme as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
Whilst our classrooms are closed for learning, our school facilities will still be operational as our external sports provider ISM Sports will be running a Spring Break Multi Activity Camp during the holidays. It is not too late to sign up and further details of this can be found below.
Ramadan will start during the holidays and so we will be following our Ramadan timings from Monday 11th April. Please check below for the full Ramadan timing schedule.
Please enjoy the Spring Break holidays, stay safe, keep well and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 11th April for the start of Term 3.

DHA PTA - Community Beach Clean Up
It seems we have a tie breaker !
The date options for our Community Beach Clean Up have hit a tie break so come on and get involved. It will be a great way to spend some time outside of school and for a good cause. Kindly fill in the below.
The PTA have been working hard with Miss Naomi and Miss Shaw and more information will be sent after the spring break on the charity we are raising money for along with the confirmed date of the event. In order to build up to that Miss Shaw wants to share some activities and initiatives for students to take part in over the holidays and don't worry the whole family can get involved too.
Fossil Hunt
The Parent Teacher Association have been working hard to organise a fantastic community event after the Spring break called ‘Beach Clean & Picnic by the Seashore’.
With this in mind, we invite all our community members to engage in a fun and educational holiday activity! The UAE is a great part of the world to go on a fossil hunt. From Fossil Rock in Sharjah to the white sandy beaches, you can find a fossil nearly everywhere you look! If you are a keen explorer then have a look through the links in the downloadable below to understand more about fossils, the types of fossils you can find and where the best places are to discover them.
Inclusion & Wellbeing at DHA
We've had a very eventful week at DHA this week, which all started with our celebration for World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st of March. Everyone at DHA celebrated and raised awareness for World Down Syndrome Day by wearing lots of fun and multicoloured socks and the whole school went off timetable to dedicate a special lesson to learning about Down Syndrome. We are very proud of our diverse and inclusive community at DHA and a huge thanks to all parents and students that continue to share our inclusive vision and spread awareness about inclusion, with a special focus on Down Syndrome this week. A special thank you to Mrs Connolly who dedicated one lesson with every year group to learn more about Down Syndrome, and our amazing parent Tina Churchill who was a guest in these lessons to answer questions and provide more information about Down Syndrome.
We can’t believe we have reached the end of yet another term at DHA. This is an important time to reflect on our achievements in our Learning Journey Reports and of course, to look ahead to our targets and further progress we hope to make in Term 3. Keep an eye out in your email inboxes for invitations from the team to schedule IEP meetings when we return after the spring break. As always, if you have any questions about your child’s end of term report or future targets please do not hesitate to contact any member of the inclusion team and we will be happy to support you.
PE & Sport at DHA
This week most of our students started their basketball unit of work, while our Year 5 and Year 6 girls began Dance with Ms. Haughian. We finished off the swimming unit with assessments and games of water polo.
We also had our final set of fixtures for the term. Congratulations to our Primary girls football squad on finishing 2nd in their tournament. And a big shout out to our Secondary netballers on finishing their season with a superb team performance away to Brighton College.
