The 3rd Amendment

Brief Summary:

Soldiers won't be quartered in a home during peacetime and during a time of war, they need to have the owners permission, and the process has to be "prescribed by law".


Amendment's Exact Words:

No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Brief Summary:

Forbids cruel, strange punishments, and unreasonable fines and bail won't be charged.

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

If I were to go to jail for some reason, I wouldn't be charged millions of dollars to be bailed out, or given a death penalty.
