MRHS PAVES THE WAY PROJECT
Matawan Regional High School is excited to offer our students an opportunity to participate in our 2021 #MRHS_Pavestheway project, an artistic project representative of our time during the past year. We will be creating a labyrinth maze out of pavers in front of the school building.
A labyrinth is a confusing network of irregular paths and passages and can be quite difficult for one to find their way. This is a symbolic effort as we all navigate our own paths during these uncharted times. Our hope is for the labyrinth to bring light and become a reflective space for the entire Matawan-Aberdeen community through an art piece that is both individual and community at the same time: Alone Together.
The pavers are a visual expression of each student’s individuality and creativity. Every single student in the school as well as teams, clubs, and groups will have the opportunity to participate. Students will create their own school appropriate design and will take home the pavers to wash, dry, and paint themselves with a non-water based acrylic paint.
We have structured the process for students to retrieve pavers for our 2021 #MRHS_Pavestheway project in the safest manner possible. Cars will enter through the parking lot by the Tennis Courts (Junior Lot) and proceed all the way to the end of the drive. When you have reached the tennis courts in the back of the lot, make a left. There will be a station set up at the Senior Patio Lounge where you will be given your assigned paver(s). You will not get out of your vehicle. Student names will be checked off from our roster (you MAY pick up for other students).
Pick up times are as follows:
Wednesday, Feb. 17th
9th grade: 1:00-1:30
10th grade: 12:30-1:00
11th grade: 12:00-12:30
12th grade: 11:30-12:00
We appreciate your cooperation with adhering to your assigned time for pick-up. If you cannot make it on any of the assigned days/times or have any other questions or concerns about the project, please contact Mrs. O’Neill at moneill@marsd.org and other arrangements may be made.

COVID-19 Related Updates/Information
CrisisGo! Precertification
This is a reminder to complete the CrisiGo Pre-Visit certification each morning. It is a requirement that it be completed prior to the child arriving at school (or boarding a bus) and we request that ALL students, whether in-person or remote, complete the screening daily.
This is an important step in the process of maintaining the health and safety of all of our schools. In evaluating the the impact of COVID-19 within the community, MRHS will be able to more accurately predict the speed in which we may increase the number of days of instruction for families who elect to participate in-person.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CRISISGO!:
If my child is 18, am I permitted to have them complete the pre-certification each morning?: No. The precertification must be completed by the student's parent/guardian each day.
Where do the CrisisGo! questions come from?: Please see page 21 of the "COVID-19 Public Health Recommendations for Local Health Departments for K-12 Schools".
COVID-19 Information
The New Jersey Department of Health provides a guidance document for schools (located here). The document is updated as new guidance becomes available. When this happens, we will post new updates here.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What criteria is used to determine if someone is considered a "close contact?": In order to be identified as a "close contact," the individual must have been identified as being within 6 feet or more of someone with suspected or known COVID-19 for 15 cumulative minutes or more during a 24-hour period (Page 17).
Do you have questions regarding COVID-19 protocols and processes?: We are always here to help! Please send your questions to Ms. Godowski (dgodowski@marsd.org) and Mr. Eyler (aeyler@marsd.org) so we can assist.
