THE WEEKLY WITNESS
17 October 2014 | St. Mary Magdalen School | San Antonio, TX
Our Maverick Mission: WE EMPOWER STUDENTS AND OUR COMMUNITY TO WITNESS THE GOSPEL AND GROW IN EXCELLENCE THROUGH FAITH, ACADEMICS AND SERVICE.
DIGNITY: THE ULTIMATE PRO LIFE VALUE
Our modern day society defines dignity as, “An individual or group's sense of self-respect and self-worth, physical and psychological integrity and empowerment.” As Catholics, we have a completely different perspective of the word dignity. Our definition is “a person who is made in God`s image and likeness.” Like Mother Teresa said, "What the poor need most is not pity but love. They need to feel respect for their human dignity, which is neither less nor different from the dignity of any other human being.”
We should treat each other as God`s children. I would like to encourage the whole SMMS community to love each other as brothers and sisters of Christ and not treat each other as a different person from us. Yes, we may have different talents and skills but we have something inside our souls that makes us all equal and that is God`s love for us. I hope this would help you reflect on your day today! Thank you for your time and God Bless. Thank you.
IN THE SPIRIT OF DIGNITY: WORKING TO END WORLD HUNGER
