From the Principal
Happy New Year to our Lamkin families!
We hope that you all had a relaxing and joyous holiday break with your families. Our staff returned for a professional development day on January 2nd and spent time preparing for students on the 3rd. It was fun to see all of the smiles from students as they entered the building. I would like to share some exciting news with all of you.
Lamkin’s 2022-23 teacher of the year is Mrs. Tina Quaschnik.
Mrs. Quaschnik is a kindergarten teacher and makes learning fun everyday for her little learners.
Lamkin’s 2022-23 Paraprofessional of the year is Mrs. Jennifer Sundquist.
Mrs. Sundquist supports students in the classroom and works with small groups of students to improve in the area of math.
Safety Information:
Lamkin will continue with monthly fire drills and on Friday, January 6th, students will go through the 2nd semester Lockdown Drill. Students will be told prior that it is a drill and given directions from Lamkin staff. Once the drill is complete, students will resume their typical school day.
Fall Fundraiser Update:
We very much appreciate all of the efforts to raise $16,367 for Lamkin. The goal was to raise funds for playground/recess equipment. We will set aside most of the funds to enhance our playground once we are fully aware of some renovations to our playground areas that will take place in the future as part of the Lamkin/Arnold/CFHS project. We prefer to add something once we are for sure of a permanent location. A portion of the funds will be used this semester for general supplies for classroom use and to replace recess equipment as needed (balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, etc.)Student Attendance:
Daily attendance in school makes a significant impact for years to come. For your student to “be a better ME in 2023” please ensure that they are in school each day unless they need to be out for an illness. The graphic called “Attendance Matters” was very eye opening to me and I wanted to share with you.
This month, we will talk with students about showing Accountability and how to Self Direct themselves in order to be their best! Please see the attached newsletter for more details.
We hope that 2023 brings your family health and happiness. Thank you for your support of Lamkin and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ms. Jill Brister
Principal, Lamkin Elementary
