Community Updates
Connemara neighbors and friends,
There may be a light at the end of the tunnel. It has been over a year since the first cases of Covid-19 were detected in the United States, and soon afterward in our own neighborhood. As a community, our response to this all encompassing challenge was phenomenal. Vigilant homeowners, diligent work by Board members, and consistent policies by lifeguards and support staff kept the neighborhood aware and active. We still have a ways to go, but it was very apparent that our community was an important means of outlet and support.
Projects for the spring will include staining the new pool fence, pool pavilion deck, and new tennis pavilion. In addition, a geotechnical survey is being done on the commons area beneath court #3 to get definitive information about the soils. The field is constantly shifting, and that movement has caused significant damage. This survey information will allow this and future Boards to make prudent decisions regarding those areas.
It has come to the attention of Board members and neighbors that several homes are using the trash cans in the commons area to dispose of household trash. The cans located near the tennis courts and the pool area should be used for events and activities associated with the commons area. The community politely asks those offending parties to refrain from using the common cans for personal use. As well, please be reminded that skateboards are not permitted in the pool area or on tennis pavilions. Many thanks.
Stay safe,
Dave Skillen
From Courtside
Congratulations to the winter mixed doubles team who were division winners!!
Spring tennis has just begun, and it is great to see the courts so active! Pickle ball will be restarting soon, look for posting on Facebook.
The middle pavilion will be painted soon then I can get the fans and lights hung. Once Covid recedes, we will be having the “ribbon cutting” for the Kosciolek pavilion.
We have recently had core boring on Court 3 to try and determine why it has the perpetual dip and how we can fix it.
There have been multiple reports of skateboarding on the courts. This will damage the courts and require resurfacing sooner (aka cost money). PLEASE, tennis/pickle ball only on the courts. If you are out walking, feel free to ask anyone you see doing anything other than tennis!
As usual, personal trash continues to be dropped in the Connemara trash cans. PLEASE stop.

Social Updates
We are looking forward to a Spring Fling Event on Sunday, April 18th from 1:30-3pm. Come to the pool parking lot for a petting zoo, balloons, and treats.
As far as the summer goes, we are planning food trucks and the ice cream truck driving through the neighborhood once again. If you have any food truck suggestions that you know will come here, please send my way. I always try to set up any trucks of interests but can only schedule the companies who reply back.
Any new ideas or events feel free to reach out. Always accepting volunteers and happy to share the reigns.
Many Thanks,
Kristen Snell
Pool News
Hi all -
It will soon be time to remove the cover from our pool and get ready for another swim season. We will be making several repairs to our equipment over the next month which will hopefully lead to a season without any issues. The new deck and fence will be getting a fresh coat of stain to make things look nice around the pool. Our lifeguard team is also making preparations by renewing certifications, planning schedules, and getting ready to keep everyone safe this year. We are monitoring any changes to the CDC and County guidelines for Covid-19 and swimming pools. I will provide more information about the procedures this season in the May Connemara Call.
If you notice any problems with the pool, please contact me.
