Mr. Ryan Wilpula (Highlands HS – teacher) has been selected as the recipient of the Adjunct Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award from Carlow University. He was honored at a special ceremony for his "fine work as a scholar at Carlow".

Highlands High School Paraprofessional Jordan Thompson is running the Pittsburgh Marathon 5k to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The National Honor Society, which Mr. Thompson supports and advises, has made making a child’s wish come true the NHS goal for the year. Brandy Marie's Gymnastics is offering OPEN GYM classes at the gym, 326 Second Avenue in Tarentum, for $8 per child or $5 each for multiple siblings. Open gym is held Fridays from 4:15 to 5:45 PM and Saturdays from 2:45 to 4:15 PM. Must have parent sign in and sign a waiver.
