Thank You
Thank you for showing your child's teacher how much you appreciate him/her this week! It has been a very emotional week for our staff as they closed down their classrooms, so the emails have really helped to brighten their week.
LAST WEEK FOR ONLINE LEARNING - DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING ASSIGNMENTS 5/15!
All assignments, both online and paper form, must be submitted on or before May 15th. In order for teachers to complete grading and have report cards ready by the last day of school on May 21st, assignments will not be accepted after May 15th.
If you need to return paper packet assignments, you can take a picture and email the assignments to your student's teacher. This is the quickest and safest way to return assignments.
MEDICATION PICK UP AT LV INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL:
Your campus nurses have packed up all remaining medications left at school and want to help you pick them up as easily as possible. We are even having an evening time to help parents' schedules. All of the district's meds will be there, no need to go to multiple campuses for different students.
Not sure if you have any meds to pick up? Emails have gone out to parents with medications still at school so check your emails. No email? No meds to pick up...
We will be using a car pick-up line at the Intermediate Campus. As you pull up, tell us your child's name and their campus. Your nurse will bring you the meds in their package, you will sign for them and you're done! Please, only parents/guardians to pick up the medications. Sorry, no siblings or neighbors. If these dates don't work for you please contact your campus nurse.

Puberty Information for Fourth Grade Students
Dear Parents/Guardians: At the end of each school year our 4th graders are offered an important lesson on the early stages of puberty, which some of our students are beginning to experience. The Always Changing Program helps both boys and girls: Understand the physical and emotional changes they experience during puberty and acknowledge these changes as a normal part of growth and development. Learn the physiology of their bodies and correct terminology for parts of the reproductive system. Understand that personal hygiene is each individual’s responsibility. In addition, the program helps girls: Understand the menstrual cycle Understand what to expect during a period Learn how to manage periods while continuing with normal activities The Always Changing Program is sponsored by Proctor & Gamble and based on national research and consultation with school nurses, health educators, parents and medical professionals. It has been a trusted resource for 20 years and has been taught to millions of students nationwide. This year we are asking parents to view the online video themselves first and then watch it again with their 4th grader if they choose to. Viewing the video before your child does will help you be best able to answer any questions they may have. There are options for watching a girl-focused video, a boy-focused video and then a third coed version. You can view the videos here... https://www.pgschoolprograms.com/Parents If you have any questions you can reach our district RN Regina Carmichael at regina_carmichael@lagovista.txed.net.
STUDENT BELONGINGS PICK UP COMING SOON
Next week teachers will be gathering student materials left in the classroom that would normally be sent home on the last day of school. Materials will be placed in a bag labeled with the student's name.
Parents will have two opportunities on May 18-19 to pick up your child's materials. Pick up will be in the front of the intermediate school off of FM 1431 from 9 am - 11 am and 6 pm-7:00 pm on all 3 days. Parents are asked to pull through the car rider line and give the name of your child to the staff member who will then place your child's bag in the car. For the health and safety of our staff and parents, parents will need to remain in their car and will not be allowed in the building to collect their child's materials. Staff will be wearing gloves and masks during the pick up times. Due to limited storage space and deep cleaning that will occur during the summer months, any materials not picked up on May 19th at 7:00 pm will be recycled.
If your child has library books that needs to be returned, please bring it during one of the pick up days and we will return it to the library. District IPads, charging cords and hoy spots may also be dropped off.

ESL AND DYSLEXIA
If your child receives Title 1, ESL and/or Dyslexia services, teachers have reached out via email with information about additional learning supports going out and office hours. The additional learning supports they have created are designed to help your child practice important foundational skills they were working on this year. These are great activities for your child to work on as they complete the learning modules from their classroom teacher, as they will reinforce key skills. If you have any questions, please contact the special programs teachers:
