RMS Knightly News
Week of September 13, 2021
Hello RMS Knights and Families
This week’s mindset message for the week of September 13th states that “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” See video at link here-
Great to welcome our Knights to the 21-22 school year and participate with them in community building activities throughout our opening week.
IMPORTANT - Emergency Verification Forms
If it has not been returned, please have your student return the signed form to our Main Office with any corrections on Monday, September 13.
These forms are very important to insure we have accurate information for emergency contacts and for building/district communications.
Information about our RMS Meet the Teacher Night- Open House
Dear Richards, Middle School families,
You are cordially invited to attend the Richards Middle School Meet the Teacher-Open House on Thursday, September 16th (6:00PM –8:00PM). This is a parent only event. This is an opportunity to meet your Knights’ teachers while seeing their classrooms. With our Knights having seven classes on their schedule, we encourage our families to only spend about 7 minutes at each classroom you visit during our Open House. We will have assistance with directions around the building to help you locate your Knights’ classroom teachers.
Before attending our open house, you can access your Knight’s schedule on PowerSchool Unified Classroom or utilize the paper copy that was shared with your student during our 1st week of school. If necessary, a paper copy can be printed in either our main office or attendance on the 16th.
Tuesday, September 14th, we will share additional communication from our teachers that will introduce themselves to our families, the curriculum they cover, students’ expectations and materials needed for your class, grading expectations and how to contact them and how our students should ask for help when needed. We encourage our families to view their knights' teachers video before attending open house.
We will also hold parent informational sessions about utilizing the Blackboard, PowerSchool and other tools leveraged to support our students. These sessions will take place in our cafeteria at 6:00pm-6:30pm and again at 6:45pm-7:15pm.
Starting at 7:35pm-8:00pm, we will be hosting a voluntary informational VAPING presentation in the RMS gym for any interested parent.
We look forward to seeing our RMS families this Thursday, September, 16th starting at 6:00pm at Richards Middle School. Parents should enter through Door #1 (Main Entrance to RMS) to start our open house.
Please complete this form for your 7th grade student(s) if not previously completed.
Only Parents/guardians will also be able to view this information with a parent account. A parent account is also needed to sign up for conferences in October. If you have not completed the parent portal agreement, CLICK HERE.
If you have already completed the parent portal agreement for your RMS student, Information about how to create an account or add a student to your existing account will be sent out in the coming week. Please do not submit multiple forms for the same student.
