A message from Mrs. Todd
We view parents as partners in their child's education. When we call you or ask you to come in, we're looking to be on the same page, working toward similar goals for your student. Parents are the first and best teacher of their children, and we get to come alongside through the elementary years to support continued growth, skill acquisition, and decision-making. So next time you get a call, text or email from the school, don't cringe. Think: What can we do together to help my child?
Thank you so much for partnering with us.
Mrs. Todd
Our Fall Book Fair is coming!
Our Fall Book Fair is coming! Mark your Calendars for October 14th-18th. Did you know the Book Fairs are the only Fund Raisers for our School Library? We truly appreciate your generosity. Scholastic has introduced eWallet to the registers. It allows you to put money in an account for your child. You sign up for this in advance. Go to our Homepage, posted at the end of this memo, and learn more about this new feature. Please note we’ll be open on Thursday night, for the Pasta Feed! You can also shop online, and the books will be delivered to your home. Go to our Homepage, address below. Checks are not accepted, but we gladly take cash, credit/debit card payments, as well as the new eWallet feature:

Music News
Music classes are in full swing! If your child is participating in a music class, please ask them to play for you. The more frequently they practice, the less they are likely to forget what they learned. The minimum they should be practicing is 10 minutes on 4 different days of the week. If they can do more, kudos!
Do you have ideas for supporting our music and arts programs? Please join us this coming Monday, October 7 at the District Office at 6:00 p.m. for our monthly board meeting. The MWEF is made up of parents of district students, and without their support, we would not have this music program. Please consider joining us to find out more about the Mark West Education Foundation. See you there!
