Vaping Information- Facts for Parents
In the past week, I have received several phone calls from parents indicating that Old Quarry students are vaping on the way home from school and that students bring these materials to school. While there has been no reported use of vaping products inside Old Quarry this school year, we want to be proactive with our approach to educating students and parents about the dangers that vaping is presenting to our youth. Our original intent was to educate students about these dangers during Red Ribbon Week in late October; however, we are responsive to situations as they arise and we will be discussing the risks of vaping and peer pressure next week.
Any student found to be in possession of or using electronic cigarettes or vaping products while at school are subject to suspensions and loss of privileges to school-related events.
Please talk to your children about this important topic and to let them know that it is ok to say no if offered these products!
Please contact Mr. Billingsley with questions or concerns. Below are two articles to help parents understand more about this topic.
