This week, although a short one, we have lots happening at school! The SchoolWorks educational consulting firm will be at Barbieri this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. This team will be visiting classrooms, facilitating focus groups with teachers, staff and students. They will also provide feedback for growth and their observation findings to our school's instructional leadership team and district senior leaders.

On Thursday, MCAS testing continues for grade 3 and grade 4 will go on a field trip to the Discovery Museum in Acton!

Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 7th, in observance of Good Friday.

My highlight last week was reading to a couple Grade 5 classrooms and a Grade 2 classroom! It was great to be inside classrooms spending time with students and increasing our school-wide reading minutes! The best question I received from a student was "What is your real name?" :-)

Vice Principal Lev is my other half, my right hand, my partner in this work! I could not do this without her! I thank her for her endless support every single day and during this week I want to celebrate her and acknowledge her for all that she does for our school community! She is AMAZING!

Dear Barbieri Community,

I just wanted to share that I am in the process of exploring different professional opportunities. More specifically and to my genuine surprise, I was announced as a finalist for a principalship in a nearby district.

If it comes to the point where I'll need to make a decision, it will truly be one of the hardest decisions of my educational career.

During MCAS testing season please ensure that your child has a good night's sleep and full breakfast! Please remember that breakfast is available at school for all students! ALL STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE TO SCHOOL ON TIME!

During testing ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE PROHIBTED. This includes cell phones and apple watches, etc. Please be sure that you discuss with your child that if they chose to still bring these devices to school they will need to give these devices to their classroom teacher/testing proctor BEFORE testing begins and they will receive them AFTER the testing session has ended. This is a non-negotiable. If any device is set off (rings, vibrates, etc.) during testing we risk having to invalidate tests.

The annual Barbieri auction is about to start. Bidding opens April 2nd at 5:00pm and closes April 6th at 8pm. You can bid on priceless opportunities with your child's favorite teachers, prime seating and parking for events like Kindergarten and fifth grade promotion ceremonies or the 2024 drama production, and even lunch with the superintendent.

We have the best PTO and Families at Barbieri School!!! Our Teachers and Staff thank you for your generous donations, preparing meals, buying meals, setting up and cleaning up! EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!!!! We all had a delicious meal on Friday all while Dressed to Impress!
