SAMR is a model of technology acquisition that enables the educator to progress along a logical continuum that allows for transparent technology integration into the curriculum.
There are four levels of this model, Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition.

What is SAMRi?
The Teacher Center of Broome County is piloting a program where by K-12 teachers can earn a “Certificate of SAMR instruction (SAMRi)”.
A limited number of teachers will be selected to participate in this pilot project. Teachers must be part of the consortium of the Teacher Center of Broome County.
Teachers will complete several workshops at each of the 4 levels of the SAMR model as well as participate in online extensions of the workshops, discussions and reflections of their technology integration. Workshops in levels 1 and 2 (Substitution and Augmentation) will be offered in the 2015-16 school year, and workshops in levels 3 and 4 (Modification and Redefinition) will be offered in the 2016-17 school year.
Those teachers completing the requirements of the program will receive an incentive to allow them to purchase a piece of technology that will benefit them professionally. More information will be given at the introductory workshop.
