What's Happening Week of September 24, 2018
There's lots of excitement at St. Anna School this week about our annual Back to School BBQ- Beach Blast Bonanza! Our school was filled with lots of people ready for a Lua, beach party and vacation. We get to hang onto summer for a little while longer before Fall settles in.
I hope everyone has a wonderful time at the BBQ. It is one of our favorite traditions and a time for our whole St. Anna community to come together and break bread. You can't ask for more than great food, fantastic company, and fun activities with friends!

Morning Drop Off / pick up
Our driveway follows one traffic pattern during drop off and pick up. You need to follow the cars down into the parking lot and turn up toward the side of the school. You can NOT pass cars. We ask that you not drive past cars or up the middle between two cars. This is unsafe for students getting out of cars or walking through the parking lot.
We know that patience is needed during drop off and pick up..
We ask that students exit cards ONLY when the cars are on the school side of the parking lot. Ideally students are exiting cars through doors on the same side as the school to avoid exiting out into traffic. Students may unload as long as they are along the side of the building and do not need to wait until they get in front of the lobby. This will help keep the line moving quicker.
If you are dropping your child off at school and waiting until doors open at 8:30- we ask that you arrive a few minutes later to allow for those parents that are dropping off and not waiting.
Please note there is a Stop Sign on the pole right before the playground. We ask that cars stop and pay attention to any students or adults that may be crossing through the parking lot.
Thank you for helping keep our entire school community safe.
St. Anna's Women's Bible Study
Matthew: The King and His Kingdom
This exciting study by Ascension Press brings the Gospel to life and draws you closer to Christ. You will see Jesus as the awaited Messiah who fulfills the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament, establishes the New Law, and inaugurates the Kingdom of Heaven. Set in the rich context of Jesus’ life, Matthew shows us who Jesus is and what his life and teachings mean for us today.
The study begins Friday, Sept. 28 and runs throughout the school year. We will meet in the Church Hall from 9-11 on Friday mornings.
Please contact Pascale Traylor for registration information at mptraylor@gmail.com, or 978-870-7683

Parking Lot = Playground
We are trying to keep recess, outdoor gym AND extended care safe for our students.
It is unfortunate that our playground is also our parking lot and the safety of our students has to be our priority. The parking lot is closed for recess daily from 11:00-1:00 and 1:30-1:45. It is frequently closed for gym classes in the afternoons from 12:45-3:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
You will also notice that we are trying to close the parking lot in the afternoons when many of the extended care students are outside playing from 3:45-4:45. If you are picking up from extended we ask that you park across the street and walk down to extended (just think of all the steps you'll get in). The parking lot will not be closed when there's inclement weather.
After School programs will dismiss from the front Lancaster Street doors- so we ask that you plan to park across the street and pick up at the front doors- unless it is really raining out and then we can have dismissal at the lobby.
We appreciate your patience and feedback as we try this to keep all of our students safe and utilize our playground area.
Nurse Notes:
ALL students who will participate in a sport (Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball) MUST have a physical on file giving them permission to participate in sports. Students will not be allowed to practice until we have the appropriate physical on file.
Mrs. Katrina Couture is our school nurse. She works for the Leominster Department of Public Health and is at St. Anna School daily from 11:40-12:40. We are also fortunate to have retired nurse Mrs. Maryanne Capistrano volunteer in the health office daily as well.

The teacher will help them if needed. Students will have access to their chromebooks. Students can get picked up at 4:30 or go to extended care. Our intention is to give students a quiet space to do their homework after school. This will be beneficial to those that usually go to extended care and want to finish their homework before playing and for those that might need a little more support and structure to complete their homework. Students need to let their teacher know during attendance if they are staying after for homework club or let Mrs. Priddy know at lunch time. We need to make sure everyone has a ride home. Students who are signed up to go to Homework Club need to STAY at homework club until their ride arrives unless they are also signed up to go to Extended Care following Homework Club.
