Growth in ZCS with Dr. Scott Robison
Dear Eagle Elementary Parents—
The important topic of redistricting is always part of enrollment growth discussions. Please join us at Eagle Elementary on March 27 to discuss our facilities needs as a result of continuing enrollment growth. We will meet from 6:30-8:00 PM in the cafeteria.
Please register to attend at:https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Eagle2019(Free child care will be provided for children who are toilet trained and three years-of-age or older, but you must register for that, too!) I need parents to be aware of the facilities needs, redistricting implications, and funding information related to our enrollment growth in ZCS.
Thank you for your consideration of this important community forum in the life of ZCS.
Sincerely,
Scott Robison, Superintendent
Zionsville Community Schools

Important-Updated Immunization Requirements for 2019-2020
The Indiana State Department of Health school immunization requirements for 2019-2020 have been updated. Click here to view these new requirements as they have recently changed. Students who do not have the Hepatitis A series may need to get the first dose as soon as possible as there is a minimum interval of six calendar months between the first and second doses. Religious and medical objections to the immunization requirements must be updated and signed each school year. Please feel free to send updated immunization records to the health clinic as you receive them. Contact the school nurse or your physician’s office with any questions.
A Note from the Nurse
It has been a long winte! Hopefully, we are on the tail end of this cold and flu season. It seems we are not quite our of the woods yet so we would like to review some illness management guidelines for both home and school.
- Children should remain home if they have a fever (100 F or above), vomiting, diarrhea or unable to manage profuse nasal drainage.
- Frequent hand washing – hands should be washed often with soap and water, especially after coughing and sneezing.
- Reinforce good respiratory etiquette – cover your nose and mouth when coughing/sneezing – practice with your children.
- When notifying the school that your child is ill, please give a reason/symptoms – this helps us to identify patterns and focus on specific classrooms for more aggressive monitoring and parent notification if needed.
- Students can return to school if they are fever free without medication and have been on antibiotic therapy (if indicated) for 24 hours, are feeling well, eating, drinking and back to their regular routine.
- Dress for the cold weather – this means students should be wearing coats to and from school.
Speak to your school nurse if you have questions specific to your child.

Buddy Up Fun Night
It’s time for the 12th annual ZCHS Best Buddies Buddy Up Fun Night. The Best Buddies Club encourages friendship between general and special education students. In the past, individuals with intellectual disabilities have not had the opportunity to have friends outside their own classroom. ZCHS recognizes the importance of INCLUSION. Open to all 1st-4th grade elementary students without intellectual disabilities and 5th-8th grade students with an intellectual disability. This fee covers pizza, beverages, snacks, lifeguards, pool rental, and t-shirt (if registered by 3/5). All proceeds from Buddy Up Fun Night go to the ZCHS Best Buddies Club.
