September 2021

From the Desk of Mrs. Maynard:

September 1, 2021

Dear Quail Run Families,

We are off to a great start! It is wonderful to see students back on campus. Teachers are working really hard to accelerate learning for all students. This past month was filled with engaging lessons, virtual curriculum night, safety drills, and so much more! Please take a moment to watch the video below to see all the amazing things that are taking place at Quail Run. Students are engaged in learning and enjoying interacting with each other as well as with staff members.

Thank you to all our families for following the dismissal procedures! We have safely dismissed each day at 20 minutes or less. We greatly appreciate your continued patience as we dismiss following our established procedures starting at 3:10 pm each day.

Thank you for your partnership as we work together to have an amazing 2021-2022 school year!

Your Partner in Education,

Marta Maynard

Quail Run PTA

Hello Quail Run Families,

The PTA would like to welcome you all back to what we hope will be a great school year! We are excited to continue providing educational support to our amazing school and to have some fun community activities as well. But of course, we can't do any of those things without lots of help and family support.

We'd love to see all of you at our first General Meeting of the year on Sept. 9 at 3:30 pm. We will be holding elections for open Board positions at the meeting, as well as talking about plans for the school year, and answering any questions you may have. There are several open Committee Chair positions as well. The attached flyer describes all of the Board positions and Committee responsibilities. If you're interested in helping out, we'd love to have you!

Membership dues are $6.00 per family for the school year. If you'd like to order a Quail Run t-shirt, the membership is included in the cost of the shirt. You can return the attached form (with payment) to the office or send it with your student

Again, welcome back and we hope to see all of you at the meeting on Sept. 9! If you have any questions, feel free to email us at quailrunpta@gmail.com.

Thank you, Valley Pain Centers!

Valley Pain Centers welcomed back our teachers this August with generous donations from their Amazon Wishlists. Thank you to Mrs. Marcus for coordinating with them. We are very grateful for your purchases. It was a great way to start the year for these teachers.

Info from your School Emergency Response Team

The safety and security of all PVSchools students and staff is our highest priority. All district staff members receive training in a variety of emergency scenarios.

In accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS), 15-341 (A) (32), PVSchools' emergency response plans have been developed by school and district teams to ensure that all schools meet emergency response preparedness guidelines established by the Arizona Department of Education, and the Arizona Division of Emergency Management.

Please take a moment to review this letter to learn more about our emergency preparedness plan.

Have you completed your Annual Update?

Every parent/guardian must update emergency contact annually through our Infinite Campus portal. If you have not yet completed this, please visit this page for information on how to complete your annual update.

United Parent Council

Looking to get more involved in your child’s education? Want to be among the first to know what is happening in the district? If so, I encourage you to attend United Parent Council meetings. Paradise Valley United Parent Council is a district-wide parent group that has been active in Paradise Valley Unified School District for more than 30 years and is a 501(c)(3) organization. Looking out for the interest of students is their primary goal. They do this by offering parents support, information, and opportunities to be influential voices in the decisions that affect their children's education. UPC meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month in the District Administration Center East/West Conference Rooms on the grounds of the PVUSD complex at 15002 North 32nd Street. Visitors are always welcome. Click here to visit their website for information on this month’s meeting.

School Reminders

  • If you need to relay a message to your student during school hours, you can call the office or leave a message directly on our Voicelink account at (602) 449-5465. The office staff will NOT transfer calls to classrooms, as this will interrupt important instructional time.

  • If your child forgets their lunch, you may bring it to the front office before 10:00 am. After that time, your child will be given a school lunch. School lunches are free for the duration of this school year.

  • Be sure to communicate end of day arrangements with your student in the morning, prior to coming to school. We want to ensure all students get home safely. If there are any changes in how students get home, please notify the office and the teacher.

  • School hours are from 8:45 am -3:15 pm. If you are picking up a student early, please be aware that every minute counts and minutes missed accumulate throughout the school year. Also, be aware that students cannot be called to the office early for an appointment. Students will be called from class at the time you arrive to check them out.

  • You will need your ID every time you pick up students prior to dismissal.

  • Your student will not be released if the person picking her/him up is not on the contact list. If you need to add a friend or family member to the contact list you will need to go to Infinite Campus to update Emergency Contact information through your annual update.

  • You can check your child's grades by downloading the Infinite Campus app or logging on online. Click here for directions.
