Everyone knows of the famous author J.K. Rowling. They know her from her amazing books that are well known worldwide. However, before she was a house hold name, she had an ambition of becoming a famous author but faced many adversities when reaching her goal. First of all, her first written book was rejected by numerous publishing companies. Then she had a failed marriage with a baby to take care of all by herself. She had no job, barely any money, and two mouths to feed. Despite the many setbacks, Rowling realized that writing was her passion and she couldn't give up on her biggest dream. She then sent her first three chapters to another publisher and again was rejected. This happened a total of twelve times. Finally, her book was accepted by Bloomsbury Publishing Company and her book won several awards and she is known as one of the best authors of all time.
The Donner Party
Back in the 1800s, there was a group of people named the Donner Party. The Donner Party decided that they wanted to travel from Springfield Illinois to California for a better life and more land. However, the fastest way to get to California was a horse-pulled wagon. They knew the trip would take many months so they were well prepared for whatever they were to conquer... Although no one would ever be prepared enough for what they had gone through. Because they made the decisions to go to California, they experienced terrible snow storms, long days of walking, starvation, cannibalism, and death.
The amazing minded, creative thinker, Walt Disney was fascinated by animation and wanted to become a cartoonist. Before he was known as the Walt Disney, he had many problems with his career. He was fired from a news company for lack of imagination and when he opened his own animation company hoping for it to be successful, it went bankrupt. Disney felt that he was inadequate and wanted to yield because of his dream getting demolished, but he had a solution, and it was to persevere and venture out to accomplish his goal. Since he kept trying and never gave up, he crested Disney Parks and animation and is one of the most famous cartoonists in the world.
