WSD Moves to Level One
At the Board of Education on September 17, the Board voted to move to LEVEL 1: In-person Learning, beginning Monday, October 19. This does not impact students and staff who are participating in the Virtual Academy.
The WSD is committed to working as a team to welcome our students back in the safest manner possible and will be reviewing and updating the Roadmap to Reopening Plan to ensure we have the appropriate precautions in place based on the latest guidance from health officials. Within our buildings, we will continue to implement the following protocols to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and families:
- All students and staff will continue to complete a health screening before coming to school or work.
- Students and staff will be frequently reminded about the importance of proper handwashing. Hand-sanitizer units have been placed in each classroom and throughout our buildings.
- Students in grades Pre K-12 and all staff members will be required to wear face coverings when physical distancing of six feet or more is not feasible.
- Schools will be cleaned daily and deep cleaned when we are notified of a positive case of COVID-19.
- Lockers will NOT be assigned or utilized. Students will be permitted to continue to carry backpacks

News from the Counselors - Outside Agency Information
The content of several of the middle school programs offered in the WSD is intended to help students develop personal and social competencies in order to manage stress, make safe and healthy choices, and maintain positive relationships with others. For several years, the WSD has partnered with several community agencies specializing in providing students, families and educators with preventative education. Agency presenters are credentialed and coordinated through the WSD Administrative Office and are under the supervision of our school principals. Presentations are targeted towards specific grade levels, and lessons are delivered either in the classroom or virtually. The following is a list of community agencies and topics that are planned for the 2020-2021 school-year.
Compass Health
7th Grade: Cyberbullying (2 lessons)
8th Grade: Healthy Relationships: Teen Dating Violence Prevention (3 lessons)
-Please note these 8th grade lessons require written parent permission, which will be sent out 30 days before the presentations are scheduled
The Child Center
The Body Safety Program
7th Grade: Sexual Harassment and Online Enticement Prevention (1 lesson)
-Please note this 7th grade lesson requires written parent permission, which will be sent to parents 30 days before the presentations are scheduled
CHADS
EYES - Every Year, Every Student
7th Grade: Peer Pressure (1 lesson)
8th Grade: Self Injury (1 lesson)
If for any reason you object to your child’s participation in any of these educational programs, or would like more information, please contact the student’s school counselor or principal. For students whose parents opt out of any topic, the school will offer an alternative activity during the time of the presentation(s).
As the student population continues to grow, we all share responsibility for working together to facilitate our children’s personal and academic growth, and to ensure a culture of mutual respect and a safe school environment. We highly value your role as a partner in your child’s education and welcome your feedback at any time. Thank you.

2020 Spring Pictures
**Please note that we have not received spring pictures from our other feeder schools (DRE, CRE, and DUE). The distribution of those pictures was handled by each separate building. If you have not received your spring pictures, we recommend directly contacting your child's former elementary school. Thank you for your patience!
WSD Offers Free Meals to Students
The WSD has announced that it will provide free meals for all students in the District beginning October 1, through December 31, 2020, or until available federal funding runs out. The meals are being provided regardless of eligibility as a result of the extension of waivers by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) related to the Seamless Summer Option program. This includes children ages 1-18 who reside in the Wentzville School District boundaries but are not enrolled in a WSD school.
Typically, the USDA provides reimbursements to school districts in order to provide free or reduced-price meals for students who qualify based on their family’s household income. The waivers related to income qualification that were implemented earlier this year are being extended as part of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, and in light of the exceptional circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
For parents whose children attend WSD schools in person:
Beginning Thursday, October, 1, 2020, all students in the Wentzville School District will not be charged for breakfast or lunch. Please Note: This is only for a full breakfast or lunch, which must include a fruit or vegetable. A`la carte and premium meals (sold in middle and high only) will still be charged accordingly.
For parents whose children attend the WSD Virtual Academy:
Meals can be picked up every Tuesday at one of the three high schools, Holt & Liberty from 12:00-12:30 and Timberland from 11:00-11:30. Please fill out THIS FORM, which opens on Wednesdays and closes on Fridays each week prior to meal distribution.
For parents whose children live in the WSD boundaries, but are not enrolled in a WSD school:
Meals for children ages 1-18 who reside in the District boundaries can be picked up every Tuesday at one of the three high schools, Holt & Liberty from 12:00-12:30 and Timberland from 11:00-11:30. Please fill out THIS FORM, which opens on Wednesdays and closes on Fridays each week prior to meal distribution.
