Welcome Back! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
I hope that everyone had a relaxing winter break spent with family friends enjoying some well deserved days off. Phien and I had an interesting break with some unforeseen events, but overall good times with family and friends, while saying goodbye to one of the cornerstones from my wife's side of the family.
Even though we narrowly avoided another extended hospital stay for Ansel in Indiana (all is well, he and Emery had double ear infections, strep, and RSV), we were able to spend more time with my entire family. It was nice having all 18 of us at my mom and dad's place - really, it was nice, just long enough for us all to stay merry :).
Over break, I was filled with a mix of emotions and spent some time reflecting on a lot of things - life in general, family, profession, passions, what I can do better as a man, husband, father, colleague, but also took some time to think of the many blessings I have been given and also worked hard for, too.
As we begin the 2nd half of the school year, please take a moment to reflect on all things you. And in the end, I hope you reach the similar conclusions that I have been able to. Bottom line is this - every day we get is a good day and what we do to make it great is just the cherry on top.
The momentum that Coltrane-Webb STEM continues to gain each day working alongside amazing colleagues, our community presence and esteem, and the growing desire from parents to send their children to us is awe-inspiring. This is truly a special place and I hope that you see it the same way that many, many of us do.
I am excited for you all to return on Wednesday. We cannot change anything that has happened up to this point. Wednesday provides an excellent opportunity to do some stopping, starting, or maintaining things in the classroom and at home - SEIZE THE MOMENT!
STAFF MEETING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2
Welcome Back, Dr. Ashley Alumbaugh! Thank you, Deb Grill!
Please also join me in thanking Deb Grill for her dedication to our students and the support she provided while filling in for Dr. A's! Don't worry, she's still a parent of ours, so she can't get away that easy :).
Safety Reminders
2. All interior doors must be locked at all times - classroom doors may be open if occupied, but still should remain locked.
3. ID badges must be worn at all times.
4. During parent lunch visits, student friends or other family members are not allowed to move and sit with the visitors - if you have any questions, please let me know.
5. Continue to know how each and every one of your students leaves each and every day.
