By: Lindsay Jones
The Lusitania, a ship intending to sail from New York on May 1, 1915 across the Atlantic to Great Britain. There were 1,959 people on board at the time the ship left. The Germans attacked anyone who sailed across the Atlantic. Captain William Thomas Turner had to slow the ship down because of a great amount of fog. Yet did they know, They were spotted by the Germans and were under attack. Germams shot a torpedo, the first shot hardly did any dammage, seconds after the shot another torpedo and in within eighteen minutes the Lusitania sunk. Even though they had the correct amount of life boats for each person they couldnt all get on. Out of the 1,959 people aboard, 1,198 passed away.
