Fall Break- Good for the teacher's soul!

A Few Days Can Make A Big Difference

I am sure you agree with me when I say this break has been wonderful! We all needed time away from school to breathe a little and get ready to begin again. I read over the weekend a statement that said, "You cannot fail at a job you were created to do." I truly believe I was created to teach and that is what keeps me going when the days get tough. I am sure you feel the same way. I don't say it nearly enough, but thank you for keeping on when the days are difficult. Thank you for smiling, encouraging one another, loving one another and loving our kids.

While I wish we had another day or two, I am so grateful for the time we have had. Enjoy every minute of the day today. There are lots of kids waiting on us to show up tomorrow morning. Love you all!

Tonna

Tonna has decided to resign her position at our school. She plans to move to Georgia to be near her daughter and grandkids. I have spoken to her several times telling her how much we love her, and she feels the same way toward us and our kids. She will be here for the next couple of months getting everything in order to move. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she moves into a new chapter of her life.

Cafeteria Staff

Thank you for encouraging our cafeteria staff as they worked through some changes in procedures last week. Change can be difficult, but I know they so appreciated the cards and kind words you all shared last week. I know they are thankful for your kind words because they do work so hard for our kids and us. Please encourage your kids to show gratitude to them each day.

Please continue to line your kids up for lunch by entree and tell them to be ready to tell which foods they would like. Those things will help them so much!

Soup Night

Don't forget to sign up for Soup Night. I know that some of you have prior obligations, but make sure you bring soup for this event. We need everyone to bring a crock pot full of soup even if you cannot attend. Our chorus will begin our night at 6:00. It is going to be a wonderful time with our families!

Ten Days of Gratitude

As a school, let's use the next ten days before Thanksgiving Break to show others in our school how grateful we are for them. Let's make it a priority to look for opportunities to tell students and adults alike how grateful we are to have them in our lives. Let's count our blessings one by one through notes, kind words, and small gestures.

Mindfulness Minute from Mrs. D

Appreciation, apology, aha: Have your students get in a circle and share an appreciation, an apology, or realization with the group. Examples of things students could share would be:

*I would like to show appreciation to __________ for reminding me to charge my iPad.

*I would like to thank everyone for being quiet today so I could concentrate.

*I apologize to everyone for beind disruptive in art today.

*I realized today that I am better at multiplication than I thought I was.

**Tnank your Mrs. D for these each week! They are making such a difference with our kids!!!
