Lord, it is good for us to be here! Matthew 17:4

It was so neat to be in school today for Veterans Day! The students and teachers so very much enjoyed the Google Meets with veterans from all over the world! The teachers shared with me how much the students enjoyed it, and they asked some great questions. Thanks again to Kim and Adam Fossum for assisting us in scheduling those meets.

Don't forget that tomorrow is re-take day for pictures and an 11:20AM dismissal!

Illinois Department of Natural Resources Grant We received a grant from the IDNR to take our 2nd-8th graders to Cahokia Mounds. The field trip will take place next Thursday, November 18th. You will find the permission slip for the field trip in today’s blue folder. Please sign the slip and return it as soon as possible. We are blessed to have received this grant again to visit a historical site that is close by. If parents would like to join us on the field trip, you are welcome to meet us at Cahokia Mounds. Please make sure that you are up to date with your Child Protection training if you plan to attend.

SCRIPMANIA TOTAL: Are you ready for the new Scrip Mania total?!?!? I get so excited to check our new balance each week! Our new Scripmania Total for this week is $15,050…So now we will be giving away 6 FREE gift cards on December 6th! Keep up the GREAT work!!! We are only $2,450 away from giving away a 7th FREE gift card! Make sure to share with family and friends so that they can join in on the fun too and it can count towards your tuition! Remember our goal is $42,500!

It looks like our 1st grade class is still in the lead with 86% of families participating! They are getting so close to 100% and locking in their Pajama Christmas party! 3rd grade is still right behind them with 83%!!! Once the class hits 100% participation, then that class automatically earns the Pajama Christmas Party! AND more than one class can earn the party! One Scrip order qualifies your family as participating. You can place a backpack order, order from our inventory, or place an e-card order through the app! It all qualifies for this fun incentive and earns you tuition credit! Check out your student’s class below.

Scrip Our next Backpack order will be Monday, November 15th. When you are buying your Thanksgiving decor, Thanksgiving food, and Christmas gifts, use Scrip cards to purchase them!

Also, for the months of November and December, we will place a Scrip backpack order every Monday! So remember to purchase ahead of time to do your Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping. Or use the app for last minute purchases to use the gift card immediately! Let me know if you have any questions about this program!

ThankScriping Day is coming November 18 – 19. Families earn up to 20% with 120+ bonuses on eGift cards and reloaded gift cards during the busy holiday shopping season. It’s a great opportunity to get closer to your fundraising goal.

Camp Jag Days Our next Camp Jags day is Wednesday, November 24th. The camp fee is $20 per day, per student from 7:00 A.M. till 3 P.M, or Camp Jag + Extended Care is $25 per day, per student from 7:00 A.M. till 6:00 P.M. in the Munier Center. Campers must bring lunch but snacks will be provided. If you are interested in having your child attend on the 24th, please sign up using the link below. If you have any questions, Please contact Mrs.Generous or Mrs. Ganey @

Lunch materials We are running low on spoons, bottled water, forks, and plates in the lunchroom. If you are able to send in any of these items, we would appreciate it!

Butter Braid Sales Butterbraid sales start TODAY!! You will find the sale flyers in today’s blue folder. We do have an online link that orders can be placed through, HOWEVER the Butter Braids will still be delivered to us. Orders cannot be shipped. All orders placed online or written on the paper will be delivered to us. Butter Braids are popular for Christmas morning breakfasts, and we will have them just in time before Christmas break! Our delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, December 15th. All orders will need to be picked up that day at the end of the school day.

We do have some incentives wrapped into this fundraiser as well. Our school goal is to sell $10,000 worth of Butter Braids which would result in $4,000 profit!

~For families who sell $50-$149, students get a free dress card (prize box for PK)

~For families who sell $150-$249, students get a drink of their choice & free dress (prize box for PK students)

~For families who sell $250 or more, students get a Papa John's pizza lunch, a drink of their choice, and a free dress card (prize box for PK students)

As a school, if we sell $10,000 worth of Butter Braids, every class will get popcorn and a movie one afternoon.

Thanksgiving Feast In the past, we have celebrated with a large feast the day before Thanksgiving break. It is a fun tradition to gather in our classrooms and share a meal. Each classroom is deciding on a restaurant to order lunch from for the day. Each teacher is handling their own classroom’s order so that the students get what they prefer. You may have already heard about this from your student’s teacher, however I wanted to make sure I brought it to all parents' attention so that you are on the lookout for the information.

Wear Gold for Beckett Thank you for all the love and support in our Wear Gold for Beckett Day earlier this week. We raised $456 to donate to the Krieg family. Each student and staff member received a Beckett’s Battalion bracelet thanks to a generous anonymous donor. We will be giving the donation to the Krieg family next week, so if you did not have the opportunity to send in a donation you can still do so. #beckettsbattalion

Parish Work Day There will be a parish work day on Saturday, November 13th from 9AM-12PM. We need help to spruce up the parish grounds - rake / blow leaves, clean gutters, sweeping, tarps to take lawn waste to park; may need blowers, rakes, brooms, --- And we will have a crew inside the church to do a Fall Cleaning on the pews, vacuuming, dusting etc.

Bring a bucket and gloves / rags if you have any. Even if you cannot stay the whole time, donating a portion of the time to our parish is an act of kindness.

Girls on the Run I received information in regards to Girls on the Run, however, we are needing an adult sponsor. If you are interested in organizing and leading a Girls on the Run group for our school, please contact me.

Auction Update Only 115 days until our Around the World Dinner Auction and we need your help to make it a huge success. This month we are asking families to procure a donation, ad or monetary donation from a business.

Once you procure your donation, please sign up on the link below.

Here are some other ways you can help support our dinner auction:

*While you are doing your Black Friday shopping, please consider purchasing an item for our silent or oral auction.

*Purchase a gift card from Scrip. If you purchase $50 in gift certificates by December 6 you will be entered into the Scripmania drawing for a $25 gift card.

*Purchase an item off our Amazon wishlist and have it mailed to the school.

*Talk to your friends and family about attending the dinner auction.

Our goal for this year is to raise $65,000 so we can continue to improve our school for all of our students!!

If you have any questions about our dinner auction, please contact Mary Alvarez at 314-420-5840 or

Faith Formation t-shirts Your child received a white t-shirt today. This is a faith formation t-shirt and can be worn any day that we go to mass.

Thank you to all the Veterans in our St. John Family! Please check out our FB page to see a presentation that Mrs. Renneker put together for us!

Have a great evening and weekend!
