Welcome Back Edition - July 2021
A Message from Mrs. Haymark
Welcome!!! I am extremely excited to start another year at Vogel and serve this incredible community. Our staff is busy preparing to meet your students and welcome each of you into our Vogel family. I will send out most information in this newsletter monthly, however, some time sensitive information will from time to time be sent out outside of this publication.
The most frequently asked question we get at the beginning of the year is how can I help my child be successful in intermediate school. The transition to intermediate can be challenging for some kiddos. The best thing a parent can do to support their child is to help them build organizational systems. Some students have trouble juggling the increased number of teachers and assignments. Help your child get into the routine of checking for work inside their flexi-folder every night. Look at graded assignments that are sent home to see if there are concepts your child is struggling to master. And sign up for a Parent Access account to monitor your child's grades. If you see zeros or "Z"s in the gradebook, it means that your child has not turned in their assignment. Encourage them to complete the work and turn it in. It's never too late to turn work in or too early to start building good study habits. If you don't have a Parent Access account CLICK HERE to register. Your involvement in their education is important. If you have questions on how else you can support your child, please reach out to your child's teacher or one of our school counselors.
I can't wait to meet all of you at our upcoming Meet the Teacher event on Monday, August 9th. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.
