ScholarChip Launch
FBISD is excited to put into operation the new ScholarChip student and staff badging system as a safety upgrade, ensuring that our students are easily identifiable on campus.
We are contacting elementary parents to explain how the ScholarChip ID Badge system will be used at school. Cornerstone distributed and had students start wearing their ScholarChip badges on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Elementary students will not be required to bring home the ID badges daily. However, they will be required to wear the ID badge during school, as the ID badge will remain on campus with their teacher. Please remind your child to wear their new ID badges daily while they are at school. Elementary students will use their badges for library checkout, cafeteria meal payments, and for check-in to campus services (such as the counseling and nurse's office).
If your child accidentally takes their ID home, please be sure that they return it to school the next day, as we want students to wear ID's throughout the school day.
Additionally, if a student loses or damages their ID badges in any way the first time, there will be no fee. However, after that there is a fee of $1.00 and any time after the second time, a cost of $3.00 will accrue. Please be sure to remind your child that ScholarChip badges are school property and should be handled as such.
As we move forward, you may receive additional communication from Cornerstone as to how the ID badge system will be used. You can learn more about Scholarchip on the Fort Bend ISD website under Frequently Asked Questions. You may also contact your campus administrator Ms. Bonaventure at natacha.isaac@fortbendisd.com, for additional information.
As always, we appreciate your continuous support in helping ensure a safe and secure learning environment in Fort Bend ISD.
Renaissance 360
Dear Chameleon Families,
As you may already know, FBISD uses Renaissance Star 360 Assessments (Ren360) to help teachers understand what students know and what they are ready to learn next. These assessments are administered during the fall, winter, and spring to monitor student growth and progress. The MOY Ren360 assessment window is January 17th – February 3rd. Students will be tested at school by their teachers.
To support your child on this assessment, please:
- Encourage them to do their best;
- Eat a healthy breakfast each morning;
- Get plenty of sleep at night.
Thank you for your partnership with us through this assessment process. Results of the Ren360 assessments will be available in Skyward at approximately the beginning of March. For more information about Star Assessments, visit the Renaissance parent webpage.
Attendance information
Cornerstone Elementary recognizes the value and importance of school attendance and encourages regular attendance to help our students be successful through the school year. Please email the attendance office within five days of the student’s recorded absence explaining the reason for the absence or the absence will be marked as unexcused. You may send an email to AttendanceCSE@Fortbendisd.com. For any attendance questions please contact Debbie Lobo - 281-634-6404.
Lunch Visitors
At this time, we are able to have 4-6 students at each lunch have one or two guests join them for lunch.
Since space is limited, we ask that parents share the opportunity to visit as we will not be able to host every parent, every day. We strongly encourage parents to sign up only one time per week if space allows.
Safety and Security is our number one priority. For this reason, just as we did last year, we will ask guests to use a sign up genius to sign up in advance. CSE asks that families sign up no more than one time a week to allow all interested families the opportunity to join their student for lunch.
Sign Up Genius for Lunch Visitors
We will not be able to host lunch visitors on Wednesday, December 14th due to schedule changes with our PTA provided Winter Wonderland Day. Also, Friday, December 16th is an early release day and we will not be able to accommodate lunch visitors with our changes in schedule.
Please remember to bring a photo id with you to campus as this is required to be signed in to campus as a visitor.
