golf balls were invented in the 14th century and were wooden through the 17th century. the balls slowly evolved until they were made of dimpled plastic.
The Core
golf balls have a rubber or synthetic rubber core modled into a ball.
the second layer
the second layer is another layer of rubber normally urethane
the outside
the core is placed in a mold and coated in hot plastic is poured over the core and when it hardens is dimpled and solid.
the evolution
golf balls have developed from wood to leather after that they were made of rubber but are now made of plastic with a rubber core.
