Stone Bank Fire Department Fundraiser
Please help support the Stone Bank Fire & EMS Association. We will be serving Spaghetti with your choice of sauce (Marinara or Garlic Butter), meatballs, and garlic bread, along with a bake sale for dessert and a 50/50 raffle. Entry is free of charge, but donations are always appreciated. All proceeds this year will go to the Stone Bank Fire and EMS Association to purchase a LUCAS CPR machine for the ambulance. This machine performs automatic chest compressions, so our EMTs can focus on other aspects of patient care when en route to the hospital. Please share with neighbors, friends, and family. Hope to see you there.
Date: Saturday, October 22
Time: 4:30-8:00pm
Venue: Stone Bank Fire Department

University of Connecticut NEEDS project Survey
We are working on a national research project about social, emotional, and behavioral practices used in schools. One important piece to the project involves understanding how educators and families think about school practices to support students. STONE BANK ELEMENTARY was randomly selected from school districts across the country, and your district has agreed to participation. We invite you to participate in this survey.
The survey includes questions about perceptions regarding the purpose and value of social, emotional, and behavioral screening; the usability of a particular approach to identifying and supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students; and your demographics. Total time should take approximately 10-15 minutes, and you will not be contacted further.
Follow this link to the Survey:

Your collaboration in this important project is appreciated. You will not be paid for being in this study; however, if you participate in the survey you may choose to enter into a raffle for one of sixteen $50 Amazon gift cards once the project is completed. If you have any questions or concerns about the project in general, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Sandra Chafouleas, Project Director, at the University of Connecticut.
The University of New Hampshire Survey Center is managing survey administration for this project. For questions about the survey form or problems with the link, please contact Tracy Keirns, at the University of New Hampshire (603.862.1060 or tracy.keirns@unh.edu).

( NUMATS) Northwestern University’s
Midwest Academic Talent Search is sponsored by the Center for Talent
Development at Northwestern University. They invite you to nominate your child
for this talent search. NUMATS is a research-validated, above-grade-level
assessment program that offers the PSAT™8/9, SAT®,and ACT® to eligible
students in grades 3-9. These tests are internationally recognized measures of
academic ability designed for older students. Studies show that there are definite
and large ability differences among students who score in the top 10 percent on
grade-level tests. When these students take tests meant for older students, the
differences are more apparent, instruction can be better adapted to meet their
individual needs, and academic growth can be measured with greater accuracy.
Although participation in NUMATS is voluntary, students, like your child, can
benefit from:
• Information about their academic ability that grade-level tests do not provide
• Academic planning and resource options based onabove-grade-level test scores
• Information about educational programs for giftedstudents
• Opportunities to participate in online discussion groups with other gifted students
throughout theMidwest and beyond
• Early practice on these high-stakes tests, which are used later for high school
placement, scholarships,and college admissions
NUMATS Family Fact Sheet 2017 provides detailed information about the
program, test dates and fees, registration guidelines, and student identification
requirements. Online registration is preferred. Please pay close attention to
registration deadlines and note that refunds are not provided. Stone Bank School NUMATS ID Number 8700189. Any questions, please contact Stone Bank GT Coordinator, Brigid Harmeyer, b.harmeyer@stonebank.k12.wi.us
