A Message from Principal Johnson
We have students who continue to be resilient despite challenges this year to work hard in their classes, work hard in clubs/sports and even work outside jobs or provide extra help at home. Our student leaders have shown us resilience and creative ways to continue to give and support others. Thank you to our incredible students!

1st Semester final grades are almost here!
As we arrive at winter break this week, the Dodgeland faculty hope that your families have restful holiday time together. Whether or not you are the type of person to make New Year’s Resolutions, now is a good time to review progress and goals with your child. How is he/she progressing academically and behaviorally? Is he/she on track for graduation and for preparing for post high school goals?
Our 1st semester ends on January 14th, so after we return from the holiday break, we have 8 full days of school for students to conclude learning in 1st semester classes and make up any outstanding assignments/projects or take reassessments to show growth in learning.
Here is a review from our DHS Parent Student Handbook regarding Grading/Report Cards:
A grade below passing will be indicated by "F". If a student of Dodgeland High School receives a failing grade "F", for a semester's work in a required course, that semester's work must be repeated. For example, if the student receives a grade of "F" the first semester, the student must repeat that semester's work, in addition to the second semester, in order to meet graduation requirements. This policy will apply to all students. Each semester's work is to be considered a separate entity. There is no averaging of (2) semester grades to determine whether or not a student passes a year long course.
Any incomplete grades must be made up within 2 weeks (10 scheduled school days) in traditional classroom courses, with the exception being students who were medically absent for a long period of time. An incomplete may be extended by teacher-administrator agreement when a student has made significant progress and an extension of time is necessary to complete the course work. All incomplete grades require prior administrative approval.

January 14th Schedule
Thursday, January 14th is a scheduled early release day for students. At the High School we will be using this day to administer the PreACT exam to our junior students. This will allow our juniors to experience what the real ACT will be like (which is scheduled for March 9th) and to receive reports a few weeks after the PreACT to allow for follow-up review. Juniors are also invited to join a voluntary ACT Prep course that will take place February 22 - 25, 6:00 - 8:00pm. An email with details will be sent to juniors and parents.
Freshmen, Sophomores and Seniors will remain home on January 14th and be able to use this half day to catch up on any outstanding work.
