HAWK HAPPENINGS

The Week of August 26th - 30th

Our year is underway!

We want to welcome all of our new Kindergarten students who began school yesterday. The classes had fun decorating a gingerbread man but came back from recess to find that he had run away! They've been exploring the school looking for him. We hope to catch that sneaky gingerbread man soon!

Our first PTA Meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, August 28th at 9:15 am. All parents are invited to join us. Remember that we have a Monday holiday coming up with no school on Monday, September 2nd.

The end of this newsletter always includes a list of upcoming events. Be sure to check it and mark your calendars for our school carnival and picture day!

Congratulations to our SOAR Students of the Month!

Door Security

Please note that the doors by our Kindergarten classrooms are only open in the morning between 8:30 and 9:05 AM. If your child arrives late to school, they will need to enter the front doors and check in at the office. We are getting a new automatic door system but it won't be installed until Christmas break. Until then we rely on custodial staff and teachers to lock and unlock doors so on occasion, the kindergarten door may be locked. If this is a problem you may opt to always drop your children off by the main entrance. Thank you for your understanding as our goal is to keep the kindergarten entrances locked once school has started for safety reasons.
