Mrs. King, 1st grade JCMES

Wow!

It has been a whirlwind of a week! On Monday the students did Holidays Around the World and visited all 4 of the 1st grade classes. In Ms. Bazzle's room, they learned about Christmas in Mexico and did a poinsettia craft, in Mrs. Clarke's room they learned about Hanukkah, with Mrs. Driver they learned about Kwanzaa and in our room, we learned about Christmas in Australia! Hopefully your child shared some of what they learned.

On Tuesday we made gingerbread houses with Miss Bazzle's class. A special thank you to Dayna Reish, Thea Campbell, Travis Layman, Kara Lawson and AJ Richman, Hunter Petrie, Amanda Thompson, Stephanie Curry and Brooke Crawford for coming and helping out! These activities would NOT be possible without help!! I think everyone had a good time.

On Wednesday we had a school-wide sing along in our pajamas! The week has been a lot of fun. I hope that your child thought so too!

Finally, thank you so much for the thoughtful gifts! I have felt very welcomed to JCMES and very appreciated. It is a delight to work with each and every child in this class! I look forward to continuing our work when we return in January!
