What Is Google Classroom?
Google Classroom is a free web-based platform that integrates your G Suite for Education account with all your G Suite services, including Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Calendar. It saves time and paper and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized.
Why Use Google Classroom?
There are so many reasons why you should use Google Classroom! Here's just a few:
- It's Free!!!
- You can control when the students post, comment, or respond to a discussion.
- The Conversation can continue OUTSIDE of class.
- The Discussion can be graded.
- Google Classroom is SUPER EASY to use!

- Using the "make a copy for each student" feature of assignments
- Rearranging the order of classes on the homepage
- Posting the same announcement (or assignment) to multiple classes at the same time
- Ability to upload multiple file types (Google Docs, YouTube videos, PDFs, yes even Microsoft files!)

- You will receive email notifications if you are invited to join a class, or when something new is posted? Make sure students keep this setting turned ON!
- If you are having trouble accessing files, whether it's a student who is having trouble turning in assignments to Classroom, or you are the teacher having trouble accessing student work, the most likely culprit is a DELETED Classroom folder. Yikes! Watch the video below for tips on restoring items from your Trash.
