Wold WarII U.S. Propaganda Campaign

In WWll all the latest improved weapons including bigger planes, faster tanks, more accurate rapid fire machine guns, and grenade launchers, were all necessary to winning the war; but the support from the Americans was essential. Persuading citizens to support the war effort was a full time effort.

New Inventions made the use of propaganda more effective and modern. The government crafted the propaganda by hiring citizens to start the campaign. Hiring Artists, and filmmakers, and intellectuals helped the workers because they struggled during The Depression. The propaganda campaign was advertised with posters, newsreels, radio, and FDR's "Fireside Chats"; the government even got popular television shows, and movies to sponsor the war.

Propagandist: A person who promotes or publicized the war


US Bond:The United States issued war bonds during World War II as a way to raise money for the war effort. They were zero-coupon bonds, which means they were sold at a discount to face value and did not pay interest. They were repaid at maturity.


Office of War Information(OWI):The United States Office of War Information (OWI) was a United States government agency created during World War II to consolidate existing government information services and deliver propaganda both at home and abroad.
