ST. GABRIEL ELEMENTARY UPDATES
Preparing and inspiring students to lead meaningful lives, rooted in the teachings of Christ and our Catholic tradition.
- SMCS Mission
First Communion
We are so proud of our Second Grade students who received First Communion this month!
Lord Jesus Christ, bless the children coming forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time. May this day be the step toward a life-long love of the Eucharist. Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to you for comfort, guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship. Amen
Teacher Appreciation Week
We are so blessed to have AMAZING teachers at St. Gabriel!
Team Evelyn, JDRF One Walk Event!
As many of you know, Evelyn Clark, one of our amazing 3rd graders, lives with type 1 diabetes.
Evelyn is participating in the JDRF One Walk event on Saturday, May 20th at Riverside Park in Neenah. She would like to invite all of you and your families to join her on that day and help fund life-changing research and create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). For more information on the walk, please visit this link.
If you are interested in joining "Team Evelyn" and walking with her on that day, please use this link and click "Join this Team". It is free to join the walk, but if you would like to make a donation, you can do that using the link as well. You can also bring donations to the school office.. She is so excited to walk with her friends and family as she never lets T1D slow her down!
Go Team Evelyn!!!

All School Assembly
Thank you to our 3rd graders for teaching us about stewardship!
Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who donated items to our Griddle Master Basket for this year's Zephyrfest raffle!
5th Grade Recognition
It’s a long standing tradition to have a 5th Grade Recognition Mass and Celebration to celebrate our SG 5th graders as they move onto middle school. The Mass will be held on May 24th beginning at 8:15. All are welcome to attend!
Field Day-June 5
We will be having our annual Field Day for grades K-5 on Monday, June 5th at St. Mary's High School Track. The games will be moved to St. Gabriel School if the weather does not permit us to be outdoors.
We could use approximately 25 volunteers to help with the game activities from 8:50 to 10:30 am. If you have completed all Safe Environment requirements for volunteers and are available to help us with this activity sign-up by May 18th. Please include your e-mail, child's campus that they are attending, and your K-5 student's name(s) in the comment section. This will assist us in assigning you to the game areas where your children will be participating. All volunteers will be e-mailed information regarding game directions and their location a few days prior to Field Day.

Community Day!
Jake's Network of Hope is excited to host a distribution for Toys for Tots once again. The distribution will be on May 13 from 9 am to noon. The order form must be submitted by all partner agencies wanting to receive toys.
All toys that are part of this distribution are FREE to our partners. The toys should be distributed to those you serve as soon as possible and NOT used for Christmas.
Orders will be picked and ready for you. Each partner will receive a variety of items based on their request. We cannot guarantee we will be able to supply all amounts requested. We will do our best to be sure all partners receive a supply. All toys distributed should follow the suggested age appropriateness on the packages.
We will also be inviting members of our community to join us this morning for FREE family fun games, activities, and snacks. All children who attend will get to select a toy to take home with them.
Volunteers Needed
St. Gabriel partners with Fox Valley Community Table every two months to provide a meal at their free meal site at St. Paul’s Church in Neenah. Volunteers are needed the day of the meal to serve and clean up, and in the days leading up to the meal to provide main dishes, sides and beverages.
St. Gabriel dates include February 18, April 15 and June 17. Please use this link to access the SignUp Genius https://bit.ly/FVCTSignUp if you’d like to get your family involved in this wonderful ministry. Annmarie Ott (aott@smcatholicschools.org) can answer additional questions.
